Can Akgümüş (1987-Ankara) Selçuk Üniversitesi İktisadi Bilimler Fakültesi’nde İktisat üzerine lisans eğitimi gördü. Can Akgümüş (1987-Ankara) completed his undergraduate studies in the department of Economics at Selçuk University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. He uses photography as a material in his art production as an indication of the cycle created by recording the visible reality and its reproduction over its relations to memory, history, and society. He focuses on image production as he explores the limits of photography by applying various techniques such as collage, exposure, and scanning. While he produces his artwork through his distant and interpretive observations of memory, remembering and forgetting practices, the natural cycle of life, and its effects on individuals, he also seeks new relations between his own memory and collective memory. In 2013, Akgümüş's first photo book, "The Other Bosnia," which won 1st place in the 3rd International Bursa Fotofest Dummy competition, was entitled to be published. His first solo exhibition, “Swallowed,” opened in 2016, at Artnivo Project Space in İstanbul. His second solo exhibition, “Terminal,” opened in 2021, at Arthan Gallery in İstanbul, and then in 2022, the exhibition moved to Ankara, KA's exhibition space. Some of his selected exhibitions are:  "Young/Fresh/Different IV” Galeri Zilberman, İstanbul (2013), 14. İstanbul Biennial Parallel Event "40 meters, 4 Walls, 8 Cubes" Zorlu İstanbul (2015), 7.
